todays Fatwood haul

went for a walk in a local park today. The piece of fatwood shown is the SMALLER amount of whats still there. It weighs 4 lbs. There is still a 2' long by 10" wide x 3" deep piece left, i will get some other time,,,,,,too many people today. Its so rich with resin that in parts its black/purple

Nice haul. Puts my Georgia fat-wood to shame, guess I'll have to look harder tomorrow!!!
 
I live in south jersey, which absolutely, completely, TOTALLY SUCKS! for firearms laws, being hassled when outdoors and generally trying to be one with nature,

BUT

Every time I go into the pine barrens, I could pick up a 10 lb chunk of premium fatwood. No kidding.

The stuff is all over the place. And SOAKED with resin.

Nice haul for you though, loks like good stuff.

you should haul it out and sell it in bulk!
 
Since I've joined this forum I'm addicted to fat wood, I find myself eyeballing it as I drive down the road.

How do you like that model Emerson? I had an Emerson designed B.M. once. I really loved that knife.

hey how you liking the CQC11? funny story...after I left Daves surplus i dropped $60 somehwere,,,,,,,,LMAO..... got home and was like "CRAP!"

The CQC11 is freakin awesome! An absolute brute of a folder. Thanks for the hookup on that:thumbup: I haven't had a chance to get out in the bush with it yet, but hopefully tomorrow. My Breeden came yesterday, so I've got some stuff to play with:cool:
