Today's flea market find, a horn scaled Victorinox...

Well, as my father would always say... "You may not be able to make something old, new again, but... you can sure try to make it look good".

So, I took the little 1960 to late 1970's vintage Camillus knife and applied some tlc upon her. The buckle was purchased at the flea market this morning too. Although the belt buckle was still in it's original factory/store display box, the box was in rough shape. That said, it had helped in keeping the buckle in it's pristine unused condition. It caught my eye for it's detailed depiction of one of America's proudest trades. When I picked it up, and read the back of it, I noticed it was USA made and of solid brass, so I didn't mind dishing out the $8 I paid for it, (they were asking for $10). I paid $4 for the knife that I got from another vendor.
They are certainly no Piccasso or Van Gogh, but they still put a smile on my face.

I totally understand that some would not have tampered with it's earned patina, but it was not just gray patina, it also had some active red rust. Also, it's not like it was some sort of historic war relic. So, it received a little bit of my judiciously done tlc. She's now been detached from the red rust that was doing her harm, and she got a bit of an overall clean up to boot :)

Before and after pic...
