While they took a break I practiced a little fire making :D
I used my Lite My Fire scout steel, I gathered some tinder from around me & gave it a try but it just didn't catch so I broke into my pouch & got some dryer lint & it caught fire first strike :thumbup:

Great pics - Thanks for taking us along on the trip!

Where's the grouse? :)

Great pictures bro. Gotta love gettin out, and enjoyin Family. Nice blades, those blade-techs are sweet!

Is that a downed pine your brother is sitting on?

All I can think about is the fatwood threads from recent and wondering if you may have had a find there.

Great pics and looked like a great time.

Thnx

that area looks like you might be in eastern KY? anyway, looks like a good time, and what is the small fixed blade?

There are plenty of down pines back there so I didn't bother looking for FatWood (Shame on me :()

South East Kentucky - Pike County 'Ol Bud ;)
The small fixed blade was made for me by fellow BF WS&S member - Justin Reeder, I call it the "Mini-Reeder :D 1/8" 1095 w/cherry handles & brass pins & it has a very nice inside the pocket leather sheath :thumbup:

I'm playin' catch up reading some old posts....glad to see you still carry the "mini-reeder" (i think the name may have stuck:D), is it holding up OK?

Must be great to be able to go out independent of a formal shoot and just walk your own up. That's not the way within range of where I am at the moment so I'm officially declaring jealousy.

Dude I love the "Mini-Reeder" :thumbup: I carry it every weekend (don't pack it thru the week cause of my work enviroment) This little knife is still hair popping sharp & the sheath fits VERY well. Great Job 'Ol Bud & Great Knife ! ;)

That first pic of Banjo looks exactly like my Brittany Tobie.

Tobie's crazy, though. Last time I took him on a hike he wouldn't follow me because a branch from a bush was "blocking" the trail. He just sat there and waited. I was 100 feet away before I noticed.

::sigh::

I miss my Lab.
