Not a clue, but very interesting tree. Probably has something to do with either an ice storm or really heavy snow.

The colors on these pictures are great. And that black feathering on the edges... reminds me of pitdog's pictures. Are you using some type of pinhole effect too?
I need to figure out how to make my camera do that...

Its called a vignette; there are programs you can run a pic through to add one and can change the size streanth and such as well. Some cameras have the feature to add automatically but i just filtered it on a free photoediting site.
