Here a monster of a folder from Todd Begg, it's the "The Grond". Ten of these plus the prototype were made, this is the proto. The Grond features a 4.5 inch 154CM blade, 10.5 inches overall open. Here are the specs from Todd regarding the Grond:
"blade thickness 5/32, blade grind(s)- hollow on main bevel with flat grind on false edge, handle material- Carbon Fiber, liner material-6AL4V, bolts-torx screws, posts-6steel posts with screws on both ends, liners are .060 thick and lock is.160 thick. The lock is our "Modular Frame Lock"......the lock is removable and replaceable, with this type of construction you can use thinner liners but still have a thick lock. Rear handle scale is pocketed to fit over the lock-it protects the detent ball from pressing into the lock, and over bend protection. The Flipper has rear facing serrations for grip. Bolsters are 154CM also. Blade is satin finished, liners are jeweled, and the edges of the liners and clip have our "Jeweled Ice" Texturing. The clip is 6AL4V and milled from a solid billet, attached for right hand tip up carry."
I am the original and only owner of this knife, it's condition is as new. Price is now reduced to $1725 shipped in USA. Also included with the knife (if you wish) is a copy of the January 2008 Blade Magazine which features the Grond on the cover along with "To: Chris, enjoy the prototype" and is signed by Todd Begg.
