Todd Begg Kwaiken Vs. Brous T4 CF. If you've had either, speak up.

Well, I was at a show this weekend and flipped a Begg/Reate Kwaiken and one of the screws came out of the scales. Fortunately, it got stuck under the clip so it was not lost but it turned me off of a trade. It was BNIB...stuff happens but that was pretty bad and I have never seen a knife throw a screw like that until now.

Good to know. I checked mine just now. There are three scale screws on each side plus the clip screw. All Torx T-08. To access the one at the bottom of the clip side you need to remove the clip. None of the screws were to the point of falling loose but I did need to tighten 3 of the 7 screws. If they come loose again a tiny drop of blue loctite will take care of them.

Yea, it was one that got caught under the clip and the knife was a nice flipper but just wanted to give a heads up...a lot of knives could use some loctite but most do not fall out.

We are very sorry to hear that. We do QC when the knives come to our shop but we do not check the screw tightness. It seems we will be now. Now that I am hearing this I have contacted David and told him about what happened. We obviously have never had this kind of problem with our knives made here in California so it looks as though we will be checking all the screws.

We are sorry to hear that screws were loosed on Kwaiken. From now on,we will follow up all these knives with this problem together with Begg Knives. At the same time,we will pay more attention to these details when we install and do QC.Thanks you guys support.Anything for after-sale service, please feel free to e-mai:cherish@reateknives.com.We are always at your service and will reply you as soon as possible.Thank you very much.

The Todd Begg/Steelcraft/Reate kwaiken in the new black acid wash look ($445) pre-order is very much the next knife I want, I just have to sell these two Brous Divisions I bought. I also bought the Brous T4 and it's on it's way. I think I will really like that one, it's got the right shape.
