Today I was invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Begg. I received a tour of Mr. Begg's shop and got to see how he and his wife run things.
I got to handle a prototype of a Liong Mah design, which was a stunning knife, I can't imagine how beautiful the finished blade will be.
I purchased one of his new Clandestine hunters. I am always intimidated meeting knifemakers and because Mr. Begg is one of my favorite makers, I was nervous.
He showed me his masterful grinding skills, autographed a knife book, let me take some pictures of him at work and I also got a shot of the two of us together with the blade I purchased from him.
I'm not great with words, but I would like to Thank Mr. and Mrs. Begg for taking time out of their busy schedule to talk with me and giving me the opportunity to purchase one of Mr. Begg's fine blades.
I was given permission to post these pictures, your comments are appreciated.
(Mr. Begg as I type this I got a big chew that's tasting pretty damn good)
