Any of you all ever see a knife or maker for the 1st time and think: "Wow, i have to get one"? I did when i saw Todd's M.O.W. Being a fan of of 3v and overbuilt folders, it was an easy decision.
The M.O.W. has a 4", acid washed 3v blade, Show-side handle is navy brass and the lock-side is flamed ti. IT runs on caged needle thrust bearings. OAL is 9 1/2". Weight is 14.7 ounces. Blade stock is roughly 1/4" thick. Backspacer/skull crusher is 3v as well. Action is very good, blade snaps out, centered with no play anywhere.
First impression i got when i opened the new M.O.W. was that Todd enjoys his work and takes pride in his product. It showed up in a good sized pelican case w/ COA and some goodies from Todd.
Second thing i noticed is that the M.O.W. is a tool(yes, it's pretty). Todd uses no proprietary hardware, the pivot gets adjusted with a penny and the hardware uses a T15. Stupid easy to take apart and put back together. So all of those folks who like a gimmicky blade, move on. This is first an foremost a tool, not a piece of art.
Todd offer's an option that allows one to make this folder into a fixed blade. The hole above the pivot takes a grenade pin, making it essentially a fixed blade. One can buy a number of different backspacers and even a leather sheath for when the blade is used as a fixed blade.
This was my first custom flipper, and i couldn't be happier. His books have a few spots open, so don't wait.
