Toilet Paper Sharp

You know, if the brand plays that much of a factor, wouldn't the humidity play a pretty big role too?

Humidity will definitely play a role, I've noticed this when testing fine newsprint or even shaving arm hair.

This was a 2 ply piece, but I split them, and this is the one ply of that piece...

Yeah, well i can use a dull butter knife to split the plys! Great to save money on tp, too. BTW, I still see no purpose in THAT sharp of an edge!!!!!!!!!

The weird thing is, you dont need such a sharp edge to cut a piece of tp. A properly aligned edge say at around 400grit can do it. Ankerson posted a video of him cutting a piece of tp after it was sharpened on a Norton silicone stone.

i`ve not read anyone elses comments, straight to the reply,....i almost need toilet paper to dry my eyes from laughing when i come across these vids, sorry, but i keep getting this image of a person out in the bush crunching out a steamer all the while cutting/rationing toilet paper, you gonna wipe with it , i know its to supposedly a sharpness test ,but this, the paper cutting shtick, the water bottle, the 200 dollar knife cutting vegetables, the batoning obsession, its all old news, yes we know already knives can do it...need something new,

the real question is, can you sharpen a knife so that it can pass these tests? sure people can get their knifes this sharp, the op just wants to know how so he can do it as well.

P.S. I recently found out how big of a difference tp brand makes. unfortunatly for me, humidity where i live is always 60-80%.

i will never know if i can or not, because i will never bother,my knives are sharp enough to do practical knife things, processing deer, fish, wood, i meant no offense, english is my second language, sometimes i dont come accross right
