tom born tracker or benchmade csk?

I really am apathetic towards my Tracker knife. it is just a dead lump of steel to me. I don't really have a reason to like it, or not like it. I did buy a Swamp Rat Camp Tramp of more simple design, and it pretty much does the same tasks. I like and use the Camp Tramp more often.

I have a Tracker. It looks cool but feels not so good in the hand and only works well if the bevels are re-ground.

Go with the other.

what were you expecting? i dont expect muh from anyone with sketchy credentials who markets an "all in one" knife. To be BRUTALY honest, the thing reminds me of those "All-In-one buck Busti'n tools" you see at Walmart, but made with better steel.

"The best survival knife is the one you have with you" ...so you may as well have with you a knife that you really like.

These work for me. 1095HC, good all round design. Discontinued, yes, but good users available for fifty or so, mint in the box examples from $75-150. A much better deal, IMHO.

Codger

So whadda ya expect from an old Codger? A design from 1966 is a proven classic!

i`m gonna buy a tracker as soon as i can afford it , thanks to everybody who gave their opinion , i appreciate it.

I scored a Koster WSK(redsign of TB Tracker) and am very excited about trying it out. That being said, I have owned a number of Busse, CReeve, Hankins, CS, Covington and others... As long as the steel is decent, you are comfortable with keeping it sharp and you use it to toothbrush familiarity--- most any knife will server very well in camping. I have batonned large limbs into kindling with pretty cheapo 5" generic hutinf knives with no ill effect.

I definitely agree with the poster that talked about a "dead lump of steel" in his hand. Knives are like boots, tough to know how you are going to like them from a picture. I would not hesitate to leave home with my CR Project One for indefinite period. It is proven in my hands.
Coming from a guy that spends upwards of 2K for a rifle/scope...if you don't practice, you still can't hit with it.
