Tom Brown Tracker

Ok, even though I'm cracking up, I still want to keep this thread on track, please. It's about the Tracker knife, and if you want to offer legit alternatives, fine. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is travelling to the planet Klingon anytime soon to get that last one, okay?

The joke was funniest with the first post, but let's keep the thread from degenerating.

Thanks! :D

A little thought I would like to throw out there. Brian Jones, Kevin Estela and I are planning a series of 1 day and possibly an overnighter trip in the near future. This would give some of you a chance to try different knives and see how they stack up in a real outdoor situation. I know between Kev and myself we could easily bring about 100+ knives for folks to work with. I don't know if Brian owns any? He he.

For me, seeing that knife (and the price) and reading the "story" behind its creation was my first clue that TB might not be all he's cracked up to be. He is a knowledgable and seemingly likable guy, but I think the "Stalking Wolf" he wrights about would have laughed at his little creation.
On the other hand, for a collector it is a niceley crafted and relatively unique knife.

Does anyone have the DAN Koster WSK, I have never seen one used on the forum or even read write up ?

I WILL get back to you guys finally with some dates to try and lock in, and we can announce. :)

I bought the Tracker 2 the smaller version it does what any knife with a
1/4 inch spine should do it chops,I had to thin out the secondary edge
to get it sharp enough to shave wood.man it was a pain to sharpen:thumbdn:
but...i do like the design and concept.Ive used all winter as my go to
knife on winter survival trips mostly day trips.it does fine for someone
that want something fairly compact and light compared to a hatchet
but the price is crazy for chunk of 1095 and micarta.before you purchase
one think for 300.00:eek: what else could i buy that would chop, whittle,
saw notches, and be in a nice smaller package.you either like it
or you hate it,I like it but I also think Boston is the greatest band ever:p

I went back and looked at the cheapy I got on ebay. I didnt remember it being that thick so I measured it, its .163" thick. It came with a little knife that stick in handle as well. Don't get me wrong I still think its pretty ugly but I dont think its all that bad. I just personaly prefer simpler designs.

Heres a pic of it.
