I just received word of the passing of Tom Clark yesterday.
We will miss him.
Prayers for those near to him.

That is sad news. He was the best blacksmith I have ever witnessed. He taught at a hammer-in I attended once. Prayers go out to the family.

Our prayers are with his family! The last time I saw Tom was when he delivered my air hammer nearly three years ago....I can remember thinking to myself that I hope I an that vital and alive when and if I reach his age. He will be missed.

What sad news. The blacksmithing community weeps at the loss of such a great man and fantastic 'smith...

Standing at the back of the smithy at Old Washington, talking to Jim Crowell while someone gave a demo up front, Jim suddenly raised a hand and said, "Listen, that's Tom Clark, hammering." We stood silent as a steady, deep, and heavy series of blows rang on and on. It was indeed Tom Clark, Jim could tell from the sound alone, and after that, so could I. There must have been a time when smithys across the world rang like that. There is one fewer to listen to.

I'm very sad to hear this. I was fortunate to be around Tom a couple times and he was as good a person as he was a blacksmith. Top-notch all the way.

I watched him bang out some square shank nails at the Spokane hammer-in as well as forge out some of his hammer heads. He was like a machine!

I had hoped to purchase a hammer and have him in the shop for a day helping me get started with it as he had done with so many smiths around the country.

Rest in peace Tom.

Sad news indeed. I too saw him at the Spokane hammer-in and it was a real pleasure to see him at work. He will be greatly missed.

Rest in Peace

Luke
