Here for your consideration are two knives from Ohio maker Tom Downing. I purchased these knives back when Tom first started in knife making, probably back in the mid to late 1980s.

I am unsure what steel was used back in those days, 440C perhaps? As you can see, I got a bit crazy with a sharpener (trust me, I know better now... bless you Edge Pro!) but perhaps someone would like to try their recontouring skills on these heavy and utilitarian blades.

The dimensions are as follows:

Overall length = 10 inches, blade width = 1 1/8", thickness = 3/16" on the matte finished blade, 1/4" on the polished blade.

The handle on the polished blade model looks like ironwood with very thin red liners, secured with brass pins and a nickel silver guard, the matte finished knife looks like micarta.

The high polish blade model comes with an obviously handstitched basket weave sheath with the number "#146" hand inscribed on the back. The other is marked "#203".

Your choice, $80.00, take them both for $150.00, shipped by USPS Priority Mail to you. If you choose to use Paypal, there will be no additional fees. Please e-mail me with any additional questions or photo requests.

As usual, the first to post "I'll take it" here gets it...
