Tom Krein SHARD mid-tech folder...$325 PP Goods[/B] TYD.
CONUS, NO TRADES
First "I'll take it" followed by immediate confirming email or PM to me. PP Goods expected right away or I go to next person. My feedback is very high and all positive. This sale is final...no returns unless item has been misrepresented.
Tom Krein's web-price is $460. I cannot tell this folder from new. Note that the entire knife is stone-washed...blade and grip...so that you have an amazing lack of spider-trails.
This is a pass-through for me, but "appears" to be uncarried; blade is very sharp; push-cuts printer paper. Previous owner did not carry the knife. It has been in my safe since I purchased it.
The Shard is a new model from Tom Krein. good ergos, the pivot has a ceramic bearing system making the flipping action extremely smooth. Tom does all fitting and tuning of each piece , the fit and finish is excellent.
Tom worked in Bob Doziers shop, picking up Bobs affinity for immaculate grinds and his emphasis on working edges.
Tip up carry; 5.3 OZ.
The blade shape is a mix between a drop point and a wharncliffe, an excellent choice for all around EDC/utility. It is a flipper design, not spring-assisted. Detent is excellent. It can be flipped open, although I need a mild wrist-flip.due to the heavy blade and no assist. Wonderfully smooth blade action. Lockup is perfection, absolutely no-stick, about 15% lockup onto the blade tang. Non-stick release; choil protects finger while closing blade, and a perfectly-centered blade when closed. Altogether, exactly what you would expect from a folder from Tom Krein.
Blade Steel: CPM 154 Type: Framelock with Titanium Stand Offs
Blade Finish AND Scale/Handle Color Stone Washed Titanium
Blade Length 3 1/4 in
Overall Length 8 in, closed length 4.77, 3.37 blade, spine thkness is 0.160.
Grip thickness: 0.495, 0.023 behind the edge.
