Tom Krein TK-8 Defender

TK-8 Defender with blasted green canvas micarta and black liners. D2 blade steel. Multi-position kydex sheath with large Tec-Lok. I just got this a couple of days ago from Tom for $285.00 + $10 shipping. I took it to work to show my knife buds there. It has onlt shave a couple of arm hairs-very easily too. I have gone quite mad at steel addiction lately and have to let this one go.

Here is wha Tom has to say about the knife:

I designed the TK-8 about 4 years ago and it was my first design with the "New" look. I designed it after watching James Keatings Reverse grip or Draw point series (If you have not watched these you should). I wanted a knife that did not have the tactical look, but would still be very effective if needed. I also wanted a very utilitarian blade style.

The TK-8 defender comes with a kydex multiposition sheath fitted with a large Tek-Lok...this allows for vertical (handle up or down) or horizontal cross draw carry. It can also be easily placed on a Merc Harness, if you don't have one of these you SHOULD get one as it allows yet another carry option. It can be carried as a neck knife with some para cord or ball chain.

My personal favorite method for carrying the defender is to remove the Tek-Lok and make a loop out of para cord. The loop then goes through the top eyelet on the edge side of the sheath. This allows for very comfortable IWB carry. With thin 1/8" scales the defender is very thin/comfortable IWB...and it litteraly disappears! It does not print as it is so thin. It is also very very fast to deploy using Keatings draw point method. As with all of my knives there are no sharp edges on the handle area so they are comfortable against your body. Kinda like the carry packages popular on concealed carry handguns.

The overall length on the TK-8 defender is just a hair over 8 1/2" with 3 7/8" of blade. The knife is very comfortable in saber grip or reverse grip. In reverse grip the design of the butt allows you to "cap" the butt with your thumb easily.
