The pronounced finger groove and pinky hook setup has been around for quite some time. Just look at the Loveless style hunters from way back when. Take a look at Liles Deathwind series, Bob Doziers Arkansas Toothpick and NY Special. While Toms Bowies general outline may seem familiar to these and to Al Polowskis Kasper series, it does not have the all important features of a dropped handle design, flat/ broad handle shape, slight palm swell, a tapered recess and a flaired pommel.
