I am running out of hickory handles and I can't remember where I last got them..I thought it was "dunn wood craft" but I can't find them on the web. The search funtion was no help. I am aware of crazycrow and kayne and sons, are there any other suppliers out there?? Thanks,

Thanks Stuart, It was dunlap that I used last time...How do you go about shaping your handles ? Are they tapered from the top down like the pre-made ones ?? Any ideas and pic's would be great..Thank's again, Louis

I do the tear drop and the oval by starting out with 1 1/4 x 1 1/2 square. I trace the larger end of the tapered eye on the end of the block. I use the table saw. I tilt the blade by matching the angle as close as possible on top and bottom of the trace mark. you will turn the block end of end to get both sides. I then go to the side grinder with a 36 grit resin disc to do the taper. The top side of the handle usually is straight. Just sides and bottom have the taper. Start with the smaller side of the head (backwards) fitting up the the handle till you get about 3 or 4 inches from where you want the head to stop then turn it around in the normal position and finish up with rasps, files and sanding block. This is the way I do it there may be other ways.........Stuart
