Tomahawk recommendations ??

I just purchased http://www.sogknives.com/tactical-tomahawk-black.html. I love it yet I am also new to tomahawks. Amazon had it for $24.00, a deal I couldn't turn down. Hopefully I get a chance to review some of this forums info.

If you haven't tried it yet, get out and throw that thing! I owned one for 2 or 3 years before I ever tried throwing it. The first time I tried it, I stuck it like 19 times out of 20. It is so sharp that it drives in deep (3" section of 24" log). To get it out, just lift the handle to rotate the hawk around until the spike part contacts the face of the block, then bump it with the heel of your hand to pop it out. These things are so inexpensive, you can get an extra (or two) for not much $. It works better than a couple "competition throwers" that cost me $60 to 80.

Check out Mineral Mountain Works. He makes some pretty interesting stuff.
The CS hawks are impossible to beat for the money. You could get 2 or 3 of them and still save a lot of money over custom.

Sure, coldsteel has basic looking hawks, but you could support a custom maker and still not spend too much money.

I've become a big proponent of the Vec Hawk over the past few years and is my #1 go to tool. They have functional Cold Steel heads and the best handle money can buy imo.

I'm kinda fond of this one.

Trailhawk is a great deal for the price.
I like my SOG Fasthawk too, but I like the fact that if I broke the handle on my Trailhawk, I can easily fashion another on sight.
