This one is forged from a US made 24oz ball peen hammer. Differentially heat treated.
O.A.L. of head 5 1/2 in.
Blade width 2 9/16 in.
Haft is handmade from curly maple length is 17 in.
Acid etched finish.

As I scanned this thread, I got hung up on Al's avatar for a good long time before I caught that he'd called dibs on this one! :D

Not surprised to hear that Butch. When I saw your spike hawk posted, it reminded me a lot of his work. If I hadn't known who made it, I would have guessed it was done by your mentor. :thumbup:

This hawk arrived today and let me tell you folks, the pictures dont do it justice. As fine a hawk as I will ever own. Thanks Stuart. I hope to add more of your work to my collection soon.
