Here's a spike tomahawk made from a reforged 24oz U.S. made ball peen hammer. Differentially heat treated. Aged patina. Handle is curly tiger maple.

O.A.L of head: 9 in.
Blade Width:2 5/8 in.
Spike Length from Center of eye: 4 1/2 in.
Handle length: 19 3/8
Per the manufacture, The steel in the hammer heads I use: 1080

Nowicki, I use the Vaughan Hammer heads part #s224. Lowes and Ace hardware have them.
 
Very nice piece. I'm kinda in the dog house after going to the A G Russell Knife Event yesterday. I picked up another Jim Crowell blade that this tomahawk would actually go quite nicely with. The handles are almost a dead match for gstipe
pattern. Keep up the awesome work! I'll end up with one of these eventually.
 
absolutly stunning,i love the shape and the patina,what can of finish did you put on the handle to bring this glow?
