Hey I'm looking for a Tomohawk in a carbon steel. I'd get one of the coldsteels If I didn't find anything else, so please don't say stick with coldsteel. I want something small, handle below 40inchs. And with a hammer, or a short spike. Something with a matte finish, the blade, or at least no shiny. I want a tough steel, that can hold up to chopping and throwing.

If it could be below $75, that'd be great. Thanks.

Like the brian jones motivational poster, in motiv. pos. thread. What are those?

Check the Axe Tomahawk & Hatchet subforum, there are a couple of makers in there that do exactly what you are looking for. Steve of Coal Creek as Carolina River Rat stated and K.R. Johnson of Great River Forge both make some incredible hawks that are affordable.

I have a buck hawk from Fort Turner and am very happy with it. Dana makes a real good hawk for a very reasonable price.

MOF, now that you are a Minnesotan you should get a Great River Forge hawk!

check out Coal Creek Forge over on the axe and tomahawk forum. He makes some fantastic poll hawks from jackhammer bits.

I purchased one and couldn't be happier. Steve provides great quick service as well.
