After having seen this knife, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=759435&highlight=gann, I emailed Tommy and got on his list. I was very pleasantly surprised when my name came up sooner than expected. Since I wanted a carry piece, we went with a CPM-154 blade with a 220 belt finish. Scales are one of my favorite woods - box elder burl (stabilized) - and Tommy didn't give the bolsters too high a polish so they're less likely to show scuffs and scratches.

I got the knife about 10 days ago and I'm really happy with it. It looks terrific, great fit and finish, and, just as I requested, the pull isn't too stiff. Tommy put a type of black lacquer in the grooves on either side of the bolster flutes to increase eye appeal. My pics do not do this knife justice. :(

Tommy was great to work with - terrific communication, good suggestions, and a desire to make the knife just like I wanted it. I'm so pleased with this one, I told Tommy to put me back on his list. If you want a sweet slippy in a reasonable timeframe, at a reasonable price, contact Tommy. Hard to believe he's only been making folders for about 7 months.

Wow - very nice. The blade has beautiful proportions and nice crisp lines, and the flowing recurve looks like it packs a lot of cutting edge into a compact package. I really like the darkened threads on the bolsters, too.

That is way too tough a decision to have to make first thing in the morning! But the good thing is, regardless of your choice - you can't go wrong.

Jim,
Looks like a hard decision buddy.. Good looking
