Tonight in Central Park with Richard we were walking around Harlem Meer, an eleven acre pond in the northeast corner of the park, and he just seemed kind of hot and lazy, so I motioned for him to take a little dip. He's swims in there all the time but usually goes in where there's a graded entrance and here there was a little concrete wall around the edge. I just assumed that the water was pretty shallow and he'd hop in, take a dip and hop back out. OOOOPS. He jumped in and went all the way under. I was laughing when I realized there would be no way for him to climb out, the concrete wall was vertical and 8 inches higher than the water level. So I kneeled down and got my arm behind his front paws to pull him out when I lose my footing and go tumbling in. :o It was only about 4 feet deep so thankfully we didn't have to swim around to get out but the chuckles from a couple on a nearby park bench made it all the more embarrassing. :o:o:D

Sorry no pics. Thankfully I didn't have my camera on me and luckily my cell phone which was in the top pocket of my shirt didn't get fried, but it did get wet and I immediately turned it off.

Reminds me of a couple years ago when I had to take my exuberant Lab for a run and there wasn't much time till I had to go somewhere. Being the Einstein I am, I decided to wear roller blades to get it done faster. A squirrel darts out in front of us and he goes running after it and I fall flat on my face from the shock and get dragged halfway through the nighborhood.

Congrats on 2000 DOC.

sounds like a nice adventure! things like that always happen around other people don't they...
