Price drop....

This one was hard to price  I only found two for sale on the web both with Ivory not Stag. They were listed at $750 and $795.

So, for you stag lovers...here a great one from the Old Dog ;)

This style is called a "domed pin" and works well with the texture of stag, because flush pins are tough to pull off without leaving some edge of the pin sticking out.

Chris is a great seller too.

Fair point. I do own some stag handles where the larger pins are exposed on some sides, at a 90 degree angle, and the tactile handling sensation is of a rather sharp edge. I can't recall which knife now, one from the past (Herron maybe), but one maker compensated by rounding over the corners of those large handle pins. Making them domed on a small knife like this is another approach that feels decent in-hand. Just checked a WC Davis stag duplex (Loveless) hunter I have close, and indeed, he rounded/softened the edges of the big handle bolts.

Nice knife... very nice. I have a 2" in pre-ban elephant ivory, and it's pretty nifty. The domed pin is a good solution. If I hadn't shot my wad lately, I'd grab this gem.

Uh, lessee... need a question to avoid a violation... do you know approx what year Tony made this fine fixed blade?
