Yeah, tough time to buy ammo. I went through a few hundred rounds of 9mm magtech last summer, didn't have any trouble with it. Seemed about like the Winchester white box I shoot a lot of.

Okay. Thank you.

115 grain?

I bought a Glock 17, and the only place I've found with any ammunition has Magtech.

Yes, 115gr FMC. Its just range ammo but I had no trouble in a Glock 19. I still have a couple boxes. If I couldn't find anything else I would not hesitate to buy some.

Putting together a little kit just for making hot cocoa and stuff like that on day hikes with my family, thinking about these options so far (size and weight are considerations as we will already be lugging around 2 small kids and the provisions that go along with them, but on the other hand cost reigns over as funds are limited!):

MSR Pocket Rocket for stove
MSR Stowaway Pot
Mugs: Recommendations? Probably something collapsible as we will need to carry 4 of them by the time my boy is old enough to drink hot chocolate

Questions:
Anyone have a MSR Stowaway Pot and know how much stuff it will hold? If it could fit the stove and cups inside that would be spectacular. Any items I should be considering over these?

Can the Pocket Rocket actually heat up enough water to make 4 hot chocolates?

Eating kangaroo for dinner...So far it has a weird sweetness to it that I hate but I'm not sure if it is from the meat itself or the seasoning.

Good bit of gear there. I think the Stowaway pot comes in different sizes, mine is pretty big, over a liter anyway, so it's 33 oz plus a little (I think its more than a liter, but not much). I like the shape, it seems to heat up quick, and when stowed away with its lid in place, provides for a little crush proof security in the pack.

I've always had two problems with collapsable cups, first... they fold or collapse, usually when I don't expect it, and second, eventually they leak/spill, again when I don't expect it. Guess I'm not a fan, origami is cool and all, but I personally don't want to eat/drink out of it.

If you're going to be carrying the little guys mess kit for a while, I'd look into stackable kit rather than collapsable. There's lots of good options out there, especially when you don't have to heat in the cup. I'd be more worried about insulation than space, heck a couple disposable styrofoam cups stashed in the MSR pot should survive a couple day hikes. A harder insulated plastic and a spoon opens up the options to meals as well, personally, I've eaten a lot more Mac 'n' Cheese from a plastic cup in the woods than I have off a plate in the house. 4 stackable cups really take up just a little more space than 1, and again, you can stuff the top one with other gear/consumables.

Oh yeah, the pocket rocket can definitely heat up a quart of water, starting with snow can take a little while, wind screen/heat shield and a large diameter (short and fat rather than tall and thin) pan seem to help.
