Last weekend I went to check my mail on Saturday to find a box from knifemaker David Farmer........I wasnt expecting anything from him so, I was like WTF?

I opened the box to find an EDC model in purpleheart from Farmer, and a note that said from Tony.

I have never encountered the generosity that I have encountered here. I have made lots of friends, some I consider very close friends. It restores my faith in human beings to know that selflessness still exsists in the world we live in. I wish all of you were my neighbors, and we lived on the same block.

It deeply moved me to find that he bought this knife of steel and wood for me, cause he thought I needed to check out Farmers work, and he knew I would dig it. Thanks Tony, I will forever cherish your act of generosity, and will pass it on to my son.

A few weeks back, I also got a care package from mtnfolk mike. Inside was some archery stuff -string wax, a stringer, and a really early edition of Kepharts book camping and woodcraft. Also, MikeT made me a really cool armguard with stag buttons. Mike, thanks man. You are a great dude.

I have seen lots of other acts of selflessness around here too. We are lucky to have a place like this, and I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart, for all that I have learned, and all I will learn.

Thank you to our overworked mods for helpin run thi place, and ridding it of those who would muck up the works.

Anyways, sorry to sap it up, but eh......

Yeah I think everybody needs a Small EDC by David.

So what do you think of the lil guy. I haven't held that particular model, but I use his dayhiker model religiously.

It melts in my hand man. Fit and finish are superb, and man does he put an edge on a blade. This thing will slice like a madman. I have used it alot since I got it. Its just hard to put down!!!

Its already getting a sweet patina!

I'm always blown away by the generosity of the knife community!! Good folks are around here!

That is why this is my main forum, the people here are all great! Kind of like an extended family.

Yup, there are some great folk around here for sure that's what keeps me coming back to this forum more than any other !!!!

That's a hell of a gift, man! Looks great. Good on tony for introducing you to a Farmer!

I know exactly what you mean wishing you lived in a non-virtual neighborhood with these folks, they really reassure you that humanity is not entirely without hope. :D

Very cool! I got to check out that armguard from mike when I stopped by his place before he sent it out to you, mike does great work.

:eek:uh. How do you know, who told? Is there a camera? Crap.......

My pug eats dog poop, so he will be thrilled!!!:D

I bet ya don't tell the Mrs that and then just sit smirking when she lets him kiss her !!!!:D

I was just thinking about that:eek:

Is it me or does a pug look like a dog that ran into a wall face first?:D

Wow! I guess the generosity and selflessness I have received on a couple occasions in the past is not new to the community here. Farmers work is quite amazing!

as with andy.. i am always blown away at the genorosity of the folks that i have met here on the forums... we definately take care of our own..
