I was reading up on blade steel (cause i am a big nerd) and i read that A2 can be hardened to 65R....

my question to you was... what RC do you harden your blades to?

and while we are on the subject... will A2 get brittle when its that hard???

NATE, I HARDEN MY KNIVES TO 62 RC AND DOUBLE TEMPER BACK TO 58.5 rc, I TALKED TO JERRY LAST WEEK ABOUT A-2 HT,, HE SAID I SHOULD ADD A TRIPLE TEMPER TO REFINE THE GRAIN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!! YOU CANNOT TEMPER KNIVES TOO MUCH,, JUST TOO LITTLE!

THANKS NATE!! THE SWORDS WILL BE TRIPLE TEMPERED TO 56-57 RC TO GIVE MORE FLEX!!

a complete ht cycle with triple temper will take about 9 hours

a-2 requires nothing but air to quinch!! But! I could try it on your sword!!

I think W. must have had daddy buy him a shipping company because while l I was out riding I saw that a freighter ran aground outside the Golden Gate. I have been riding here for errrrr 44 years and that it the first time I have seen that happen. Must be him.
