I was just reading about the Benchmade Nimravus. Sound's like a hell of a knife. As you may know, I just ordered a Recondo, it's on it's way to me as we speak....
I hope I made the right choice, as I wanted a concealable fixedblade which was a fighting knife at heart. I would love to hear what you guy's have to say, it anything.

The Emerson made, Frenchman Fred Perrin designed, La Griffe is a concealable fixed blade. Knife Outlet has it for $44.95 here:

It conceals both as a neck knife or horizontally under a belt, held in place by a belt loop on your pants and a 6" to 8" piece of paracord around your belt. The hawkbill shape of the blade may be to your liking.

Hi!

I've gotta agree on the La Griffe, awesome knife! small but in my opinion it has far greater defense capabilty then it's size suggests.

I've got a Nimravus and i really like it! light, quick and sharp.
The sheath set-up could be better, but that's easily solved.

Got one! you won't be disappointed.

I wear my La Griffe a lot, but it isn't the same sort of knife as a nimravus or recondo. Unless you know what you're doing, it is not a good idea to use in a fight.

On the other hand, it is a great little utility slicer, even though the looks might scare some people, it's so small they really don't have to notice you using it.

I'm thinking that since the Recondo is a bit on the large side (well, that's relative I suppose) that it wouldn't be all that easily concealed, or at least with a high degree of comfort.

Perhaps the Nimravus Cub?

Or, I'd suggest a Pikuni by Simonich and REKAT. Size wise, it's not going to take the place of the Recondo, but it'd make a nice addition to it. The D2 will require more attention to keep it rust free- but it's a very nice piece and ultra-concealable.

If you are looking for more than one, then you can't go wrong with the Nimravus. You will like your Recondo though, and it should do everything required of it.

Thanx for the Pix! I really love that blade, I wish I could get my paw's on one.
Oh well. I'll have to skimp on the book money I guess...

Love the forum
