Too Darn Quiet!

Noah,
That young man is very fluid and has great extension on his kicks! I know nothing of points fighting but can't help but notice his hands are held low? Then again, it seems to be working for him. :)
Bill

He is definitely one of our more relaxed fighters, but yes, he does hold his hands low most of the time. We do not advocate keeping them low like that but he and one of our other youth brown belts both drop their hands that way a lot--I think it tends to be because they are faster than just about everyone they spar against and so they get lazy when they do point sparring. The idea of point sparring is to get your strike to tap your opponent before they can tap you and then the referee stops you and awards a point, basically, so there isn't any real danger of being hurt and you just have to be fast. When we do continuous contact sparring they do keep their hands higher until they get tired :P

I have been in the Mohave desert romping around wi the wife for the last few weeks. My hiker has seen more use per day this year than any one knife deserves. When I got home to Colorado whe I have moany knives to choose from, I put the hiker om my belt and my short hiker in my wallet sheath, the same two blades have spent every moment of 2012 within ten feet of me. And at no time did I feel underknived, even when battening the hardest mesquite I have laid hands on.

I planned on posting abot the trip, do y'all think i should do it here on in another sub forum. Since this is the one with the people I like best it would be my first choice, but aside from exclusive jk (and multi tool) use it has little to do with jk handmade knives. John, proud supporters what do you think?

Absolutely. If you have pics I know I'd love to see them. I grew up roaming around there.
