I was told if you blade gets dull, you can send it into kershaw and they will give you a new blade, is this true?

Not that I would send my knife to Kershaw to be resharpened( I reprofile all my blades to the angle I like)....But doesn't Kershaw charge a small fee to sharpen a knife unless it came out of the box dull?? It just seems silly that Kershaw would sharpen everyones knives for free unless it just wasn't up to there(Kershaws) specs. BTW..I've never bought a knife from Kershaw that wouldn't shave hair straight out of the box.

We do offer free sharpening and tune-up's on all Kershaw, Shun, and
ZT products. Just get it to us, and we will take care of the rest.

Of course all our knives come with a Lifetime Warranty as well.

Now that's really cool. You guys never cease to amaze me with your CS!! Thomas, Kershaw...you guys rock!!

Something kind of rattles around inside my ti/zdp leek, the AO doesnt seem to function abnormally or anything. Is there something wrong with it or is that normal?

Thanks, It only does it when its open, I cant replicate the noise when the knife is closed.

Its because the Torsion bar is under tension when closed, which is what helps open the blade; and why it doesn't rattle when closed. I have a leek that does the same thing.

Thanks again. Ive owned probably 5 different leeks but for some reason this one is the only one I noticed it on.

Some leeks come with a little more lube in the torsion bar pocket that holds it pretty still in the open position. Like the others have said...there's no problem with it..it just has a little play in the open position since it has no tention on it.

whats the lifetime warranty cover? Just defects, or accidental damage and ware and tare?

From the papers that were included with my SG2 Blur...

Kershaw products are guaranteed for the lifetime of the original owner to be free of defects when received from the factory. Any product we find to be defective in its original material, construction, or workmanship will be repaired or replaced with the same item or one of equal value at no charge. (Of course, normal wear, abuse such as prying with the knife, or neglect are excluded from this non-transferable warranty.)

From what I've seen customer satisfaction is paramount at Kershaw and it is usually worth it to contact their warranty department to see if they can find a solution for you. Of course try to have some realistic expectations before you call. :D

Kershaw usually handles things pretty well. Don't expect a new knife every time you send one in, but defective knives are always covered. Ordinary wear and tear is NOT covered. Scratches to coatings and knives that have been abused are not covered, nor should they be. They will still sharpen them though...

I don't want to revive an old thread but I just would like to add that whenever you send your Kershaw in for repair they always sharpen it even if you didn't send it in for sharpening. Thats what an email I got from them about the subject said at least. Oh, and shipping back from them is free. They return ship USPS to keep the cost low.

I have said it many times in many places, and I will say it again, you can not beat Kershaws customer service. It is simply the best and always will be the best. The reason it is the best is because of people like Thomas that believe in the product and care about us, the customers. I have met many people from Kershaw and they all truly care about the product they produce and the people they sell them to, that is why I have been a loyal Kershaw fan for over a quarter of a century. They are simply the best and improving all the time !!!:thumbup::thumbup:

I just got a new Vapor II in the mail, and it's dull as a bowling ball.
I'm glad to hear that their CS is good. Think I'll contact them.
