hi all, i gotta ques. ive got some 1065 bars 1/4 in thick ive been using to forge . if i try to keep them thicker when i start to profile it i end up with small folds and cracks along the edge. i wanted a thicker blade in the end. however if i take a piece about 5 inches long .25 thick and 2in. wide. narrow it(wich makes it thicker) then draw it out and re-widen it and thin it out i end up with a thinner blade but no cracks or folds.it takes me quite a few heats to do this.will the higher number of heats remove to much carbon? i dont like asking dumb ques. but i really dont have any idea. thanks guys!!! willy
