Not quite sure if the real life character, Henry Hill, portrayed in that movie is who we, as knife fans, want to be associated with.

We have enough image problem already, in my opinion.

You screwed it up...
You led with the idea of "too many knives", then went with "enough knives".
I've admitted, to myself & others, that I have enough knives. That's a situation that is easy to recognize, and there's not really a joke there. Too many knives? I don't have that; and I'm not sure I ever could (in part because I am able to admit that I have enough).

enough knives is probably 1 fixed, 1 sak and 1 folder. Mayve even just 1 knife is enough based on who you ask.

I'd imagine, too many is hard to quantify as well, because if you have 1 and 1 knife is enough, than 2 is too many for all standards and practices. Knife enthusiats ar enot standard nor do they practice sense in a general commonly way, thus the term "too many" must take on a different paradigm all its own, shedding itself of the false dichotomy of the NORMIE knife owners.

Under the enthusiats paradigm, 1 can never be enough, because that would make you a normie, and thus the wheel of knife life turns

Too many? Absolutely....but I’m planning on living another 30+ years, so....I’m gonna keep buyin em as long as I can afford em lol
The real question is... in 10-15 years or so will S35VN, Elmax, M390 etc be considered “bottom of the barrel” like 8cr and 420 is now...? Hmmm
I hope not lol

Define.. Too Many...:p
John
That is THE question of course. Too many for me is more than I can conceivably use on a weekly basis except for special purpose blades that see occasional use. Ask me if I care?

Too many knives ? I don't know.
I do know that I have a hard time deciding what to carry sometimes and I just got another I don't know what to do with at the moment.

For me too many is having many that I don't carry/use because I don't like them. Can never have enough good knives.
