Too many listings??

You misread. There was no "automatically implies" - the Busse folks flat out asked, repeatedly. If you didn't see it, that's not my problem.

As for the "expense" of many, that's pretty weird logic, but whatever floats your boat. We'll agree to disagree.

Compare the traffic in the Buck forum to that of the Production forum. . . There is the expense. . . very few views for your thread. only they asked for it and had to get 40 gold or higher members to vote for it.

Voluntary VS forced. Pretty simple.

Please point out the thread where Busse Fans campaigned for their own forum.

Yeah, let me hop right on that. Especially since the search engine maxes out when you list the key words Busse + sale + forum.

Or, just a suggestion, you could take my word for it and see how this works instead of immediately getting in my face about this. I think it's pretty clear that I'm not "complaints" driven with how I run this site, or else there's be no paying memberships, the chatter rule wouldn't be there, and half a dozen other easy to spot examples of my using my best judgement to make decisions.

If you don't want to use the Busse For Sale forum, guess what? Don't. Otherwise, why are you making such a huge deal about this?

Here's one of the threads: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453093

I notice that the majority of complaints are actually against creating one because of "RAWR DON'T SEGRAGATME!" not anything worth actually complaining about.

I also notice that that wasn't the first time the topic's come up. I also notice that there were several people who chimed in that they'd upgrade if it happend. I fail to see any valid complaints against it other than your "I look for deals, not Busse deals". Like you said, it's not that hard to click and scroll - if you are looking for deals all over, it's not that hard to click on the Busse or Buck subforums.

Do a search for Busse in Service and support, under thread titles. There are no threads where Busse fans campaigned for a forum. I read the S&S forum every day, and as long as I have been a member here there has never been any such thread.

I am not making a huge deal about this. I am only reiterating what my position has been every time this subject is brought up.

I was under the impression I would be forced to sell Busse brands only in the new sub forum. If that is not the case, then I am fine with it.

The Busse For Sale area is for Busses ONLY. If you are selling multiple knives in a post, it can go in the General production section. You already said you don't sell all that often, and when you do it's often multiple knives. Chances are this doesn't affect you at all.

Ok, then I am alright with it. Thanks.

Spark what about swamp rat and scrapyard knives? Is this included in the busse forum or not?

They are subdivisions of Busse, right? That's why their name is mentioned in the forum title

Just an opinion, but I feel this was ABSOLUTELY the correct thing to do. The first step in good organization is sorting when there is an overabundance of one item. I can't see where this will be less effective for the Busse collectors.

Does this mean that Scrapyard will be getting their own forums here also, like Swamp Rat and Busse have?

Micky, that's a good question. Honestly, I don't know enough about them to say yes or no. Jerry & I would have to talk about that & it'd require sustainable traffic & all that.

i'm good with this, not that spark needs my support. it's his house, his rules, and i'm glad he let's us all come play here. i don't see any major drawbacks to this although i do see it as being more of a detriment to sellers of other brands than to the busse sellers, though. i peruse the exchange looking for busse's. never had any issues with having to scroll down a few pages to find what i wanted, hell you see a lot of neat stuff in there. i've actually bought knives other than busse while looking in the for sale threads, which likely won't be happening any more. i can't speak for anyone but me, but i will limit my exchange browsing to the busse sub-forum, thereby decreasing the views other sellers are going to get on the knives they have in the main forum. this isn't any kind of boycott, it's just that busse is what brought me here and what i like to shop for.

Thank you, Spark!! I suspect things will go much better now for both Busse and other posters. Way to go!!

It is working I guess, it is 11.13 at night, there are 65 users viewing the Production sales forums. 3 on Buck, 30 on Busse so that leaves 32 viewing the one for everything else. People wanted the threads to slow down on the general production sales forum, I think they got their wish, now to see if the number of sales drops exponentially because half the buying population is looking at specialty sales boards.

Well, we'll see what happens. Like I said in the other forum, if people tell me it sucks after a month, i can put it back like it was

....or conversely, if the number of interested buyers increases because we don't have to sort through 2/3's of the listings for knives that have no interest to us.

The pendulum can swing both ways.
