Too many- or not enough.

Unless this is one of the 6 times I've been wrong in my life, that little acronym (the one that happens to be causing a turbo $#!+ storm over in General... here is the link lol http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...bout-knives-knife-people-just-makes-you-laugh ) comes from the military- no?. It refers to the standard set of gear a soldier is to carry all the time, as opposed to more specialized gear for special business. So, in that context, such a person likely only has one example of each piece of gear (whether it is a flash light, a med kit, or a blade- they likely don't pop on down to their knife drawers to draw out "Lucky" or "Bessie" or "Lucy" or whatever tickles their lil fancy at the moment). However, we all know that meanings and connotations and contexts change. Its called etymology and its a real humdinger ;)

I now hate the term since I find that the discussion surrounding it is not worth even a fraction of the effort spent on defining it. But I have used it to refer to the nonspecialized, generic, everyday, common, catch-all, handy set of kit a person carries often (but not necessarily 24/7/365).

I used to look for the One, futile.

Then I turned to the One Hundred, eclipsed.

Now I'm satisfied with One Out of Many.
