too sharp?!!

Wow this thread really took off! It is funny that so many others have had similar encounters with lovers of dull blades.
To clarify the knife being discussed in my original post, the blade length was no more than 2.5 inches and a narrow grind. The EDC that I had at the time was a Kershaw Vapor which was shaving sharp.

Shaving sharp. That's what I like to hear. Your boss sounds like a real nit wit. Where I work we have some real beauties too. Disregarding the fact that we make alot more money than they do (we are union, and highly paid), some of these guys are managers because they can't do the work and the company dosen't know what else to do with them. They cause less damage doing time cards, vacation lists, etc. We had a new boss come in last year. he had 20 years of service. he thought he was something, but he was really nothing. One day the cheif steward really got him good in front of about 20 guys. The steward said to this boss,
"Wow, I remember you, you used to work down in Woburn. Yeah, I remember you,you used to have a little earring, and a mullet haircut. You used to take walks with a couple of the girls down there. Yeah, you were known as one of the three girls".
This frigging guy literally turned red like a fire truck. 20 guys and a couple of girls were all screaming laughing at him. I actually felt bad for this poor slob. He lost control of this group from then on in. He took another position a couple of months ago. he confided with someone that he was on medication because of the stress of being the boss of these guys. This is a real union. the cheif steward, who is a hunting buddy of mine really runs the show there. When he gives a "recommendation" that's what everybody seems to do. He can't tell us what to do, because that would be directing the workforce. He can only give us his opinion, which always seems to be everyone elses opinion too. I guess what I am saying is most bosses suck and should be rained in before they think they are something, and everyone else knows they aren't.
