took a bladesmithing class, anyone ever see one of these?

Berger ?
Can't remember. I've been trying. 😣 Pretty cool machines, though, and a distinct possibility. What I seem to remember is that it/they were stone grinders, old, and well regarded as folder-blade making machine for the industry. Bob was moving from Lockport,IL to TN at the time, and we didn't see each other after that. 35 years ago. Can't remember, but still hope if I see the name a light bulb will pop up!
Thanks for participating in my mystery!!:)

As an aside I ran across this article when my wife and I were trying to remember Bob's wife's name (which I think might have been June) . Turns out, Bob just passed this year. RIP, Bob, and thanks for all the fun times and all you taught me in the 80s. Bob Cargill obituary. He's an interesting stop in the history of knifemaking in the States.
Sorry, found another piece by Mark Zalesky. I post it only because it's worthy knife history and also because that first pic is exactly how I remember the guy down to the peg leg and the rolled up pants whether it was jeans or a suit. Caught my wife's breath, it triggered such an instant identification. He and his wife were a lot of fun. Triggers a lot of good memories of Sundays and the monthly AECA shows where I started my brief time as a selling knifemaker.

Look up the Ken Hawley tool collection videos on youtube. There are videos between the 60s-90s of the old tool makers from Sheffield, England, at least one of the videos has a double wheel for hollow grinding razors.
The whole video collection is fantastic though.

If you search "Dual Wheel Hollow Grinder" you will find many videos of these grinders.

Was digging through an old hard drive and finally located this pic of a dual wheel grinder made by John Greco. I snapped this in his Bay St. Louis shop circa 1990.Greco Dual Grinder.JPG
