Took a hike in the woods with an axe..

garry, I wouldn't be surprised if some Diamond Edge axes were not made by Plumb. Seems to be exceptions to every "rule" about axe brands.

That is the truth. I try to avoid hard and fast rules. We do know that Plumb probably made the vast majority of them and we can be thankful for that. Plumb = quality it seems, I have never been disappointed in any of the ones I have ever owned.

Ah Ha! The infamous old "Diamond Edge Forged Tool Steel" stamp without the diamond logo mystery axe.

Probably looks close to this:

Could have had a diamond logo on the right side at one time...

...or maybe not. :)

Good evening sir, I hope this is not faux pas to reply to a post so old. But I was trying to research a double bit I found today. And guess who popped up LOL. It is a diamond edge forged steel tool without the diamond stamp. I did a pretty specific search, as a general search led me nowhere. That dropped me right here. So I hope I am not breaking some sacred forum decorum.

It reminded me of a Kelly which is what I find mostly as far as double bits go.

Those look like Plumb bevels.
