Took my son Mace (age 2) ,And my German Shepherd Zeus out for a Hike--Waco,Texas

My son just turned two and it's hard to gauge when he is getting tired. We have yet to hike far enough that he wanted to turn back. It's usually because his mother is concerned she will have to carry him. I'm surprised that Texas has such a knife law. Is the law statewide or just in certain parks? Do you know of it ever being enforced? Thanks for sharing the pics.

Here are the current knife laws for Texas-Statewide

You can carry open or concealed any knife with a blade 5.5 " or less--unless it meets the definition of an Illegal knife(see web page)

From a safety standpoint it makes no sense as a 5.5" blade can end a life right quick

I have heard of it being enforced once when a Man brought a knife into a courthouse

Great post Doc, I love seeing you getting Mace out in the field. I am really looking forward to my grandson getting a little older, he's 1 now, so I can take him out with me. These are the beginnings of the most fun days. Enjoy it while you can, the days between now and the time he discovers dating will fly by quicker than you think.

Thanks for the kind words on the 42. They didn't have the tooling to do the grind the way I wanted it, but I think they did pretty well with it overall. I like the way it handles, and they have typically done a good job on the heat treat. If you are really going to habg onto it, I will send you a spare set of canvas micarta scales I have here so you can see and use it the way I envisioned it when I drew it out.
