My son just turned two and it's hard to gauge when he is getting tired. We have yet to hike far enough that he wanted to turn back. It's usually because his mother is concerned she will have to carry him. I'm surprised that Texas has such a knife law. Is the law statewide or just in certain parks? Do you know of it ever being enforced? Thanks for sharing the pics.

You can carry open or concealed any knife with a blade 5.5 " or less--unless it meets the definition of an Illegal knife(see web page)
From a safety standpoint it makes no sense as a 5.5" blade can end a life right quick
I have heard of it being enforced once when a Man brought a knife into a courthouse
