Wife and I did an over nighter at the cabin Saturday night. Decided to take the Brute with me. I got it out Saturday, and noticed it had rust on it. Thought perhaps a little batonning, and other use may take it off. It did not, haha, but was still a blast to use.
Started off with a little batonning:
As you can see, the rust remained:
The start of my prep:
Chopped a small log. It's no 9 when it comes to chopping, but did okay. I opted for the 2 finger grab. One thing nice about not having the extended pommel, is that it's more comfortable when you use two fingers:
Did some cross batonning to cut the next piece off. Worked well, but I should have started with a little wider cut:
Fun, but not as easy as this, haha:
Was fun using it delimbing as well. Easily took them off with one swipe:
Used the little JK tin knife set I won to get the fire going. Used the Brute to scrape some cedar shavings, but forgot to get a photo:
Blow into flame:
Add cedar boughs for an easy catch:
Cedar boughs reeeeally burn:
Fence lizards for days. Things are all over the place:
