Well I was bored this morning so I sharpened my NMFBM, took it all the way up to 7,000 grit Polishing tape. I did not reprofile it, I kept the factory edge profile as I felt there was no need to change it. :D

Yes it's sharp.

Thanks man. :D

I made a short video after slicing newspaper, it's uploading now. :D

You certainly seem to have got the hang of that Edge Pro ... nice job

Thanks man, the more you use it the better you get at it. :D

I wanted to match the factory edge exactly so I really took my time this morning with the stones making sure it didn't change the edge profile. Then polished the edge after that. :)

Looks nice Ankerson, there's that mirror edge shining back at you. You've definately got that edgepro mastered.

Nice edge.

Keeping pretty close to the factory angles is something I usually do on the big knives, too. The edges that come on the BMs (and many others) these days seem to be at very reasonable angles, considering what they're designed for. That being said though, I intend to thin the edge out some on my BWM the first time I sharpen it. It'll help it get through those 2" limbs just a little easier. :D

After looking at some of the results you've been getting, I was inspired enough to break out my own Edge Pro and go to work. Watched the DVD again and went to practicing on some "less expensive" knives. So far, so good. Time to take it to the next level. I'm going to have to order some polishing tapes myself. Those mirror edges just look amazing!

I would put a 30 degree back bevel on it with a 40 degree edge, that should help it a lot.

He has the 2,000, 3,000 and 6,000 tapes in stock now.

Also look into getting the glass tape blank, it works fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing some photos once you get your tapes. :D

Looks great! Looking forward to another informative video.

At that level of sharpness it might be a good time to invest 20 minutes and a few feet of 550 cord that could save your leg.

I have plenty of paracord and I will be using a lanyard next time I use it you can bet on that.

I've put those on 3or4 of my knives now, different weaves, knots, and braids. They turned out pretty cool, intertwined different colors of para cord for different looks. It would definately help to keep the knife from getting away from you. ;)

Bored?? Get a job!
Hey... wait a minute...... knife sharpening... :)
:thumbup::thumbup:

Jumpin Jimmy... Things will work out! I know.
