Took the Edge Pro to the NMFBM this morning.

Ankerson if you lived closer to me or i lived closer to you I'd be having you sharpening my knives.

Thanks man. :D

Jumpin Jimmy... Things will work out! I know.
You do have a knack for knife sharpening. ;)

Hopefully they will, more companies are laying off, cutting back instead of hiring. :(

I have plenty of paracord and I will be using a lanyard next time I use it you can bet on that.

Right on!

I forgot to mention that the whitish part is not white, but actually reflective material built into the 550 cord. I figure since there aren't any really shiny parts on that FSH I could find it easier in the dark with a flashlight if the need arose. The effectiveness is demonstrated with the camera flash.

Looks great.

What is your estimation of the factory edge angle? stated as included angle for clarity.

It does look really nice. :D

It's about 21 degrees or so. :)

21 degrees included angle  or 21 per side ( 42 degress included) ?

Sorry to be pedantic, but people often talk about angles without clarifying what is meant.

Gotta be 42, not 21.

Weren't the NMFBM's convexed in both edge and grind? I guess I was wrong in that. I'd SWEAR that many of my recent Busse knives have been sharpened on the slack belt.

Yes that was 21 per side. :)

Looked like mine was too. :)

with former Marines, want settle for less than perfection, my son is the same way...

outstanding job, i am still coming by someday at your convenience for some of that sharpening treatment.

Well I was bored this morning so I sharpened my NMFBM, took it all the way up to 7,000 grit Polishing tape. I did not reprofile it, I kept the factory edge profile as I felt there was no need to change it. :D

Yes it's sharp.

Mine looked like it was sharpened on a slack belt. Convex primary with convex edge, just needed to blend them a little after I stripped mine.
