I was at a local Princess Auto picking up a set of Cobalt drill bits when I came across this!

It's an old ammo box. They had a pile of them for $7 per box. Since I travel alot I figure it would made a sturdy knife making tool box. Here's a shot of what I stuffed in her already.

I have the following in the box:
- set of cobalt drill bits (the rex box)
- one vise grip style C-clamp
- three small c-clamps
- one double-cut flat bastard
- one single-cut file
- one small table vise
- one 12" length of 3/16" nickel-silver pin stock
- one 12" length of 1/8" nickel-silver pin stock
- one 12" length of 3/8" by 3/4" nickel-silver bar stock
- one 9 1/2" length of 5/16" by 1 3/4" 5160 bar stock
- one 12" length of 3/16" by 1 1/2" ATS-34 bar stock
- one 10" knife blank
- couple scraps of 120 grit and 240 grit sandpaper

And there is room to spare! If you use this idea out in the field just make sure to label it so it dosen't get sent out and someone will have throw your equipment at the enemy instead of using ammo! :D

True! But sturdy shoe boxes are hard to find and my shoe box was starting to fall apart! :D

You should try locating 30mm ammo cans or even 25mm. Of course depends on the size you want.
