Very cool. Way to go, Paul! For more than a decade, every Thursday, I've gone down to Leeds Market to help out my mate 'Tool Man', and to enjoy the crack (that good old Northern English/Scots word) with the regulars who hang out at the tool stall. Originally, I was just a customer, which is how we got to know each other, but we've been good pals for years now. Regular posters in the Guardians thread have got to know Tool Man, his terrible diet, his dense Yorkshireness, and his various eccentricities, through my posts about him, and my frequently exasperated and disparaging comments

I received a very generous package from PaulJakeywax31 in the week, full of all sorts of goodies, including an incredibly generous gift for Tool Man
I rang the fat lump to let him know, and he was obviously very surprised, but as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve. I told him I would bring the fabulous gift down to the market on Thursday, but since he is one of several myopic middle-aged friends I have, who habitually leave home without their glasses, I warned him, on pain of fist, that he better bring his specs with him!

Inevitably, Tool Man was absolutely bowled over by the generosity of Paul's gesture, and stunned by the knife he had been given, which as I reminded him, is thoroughly out of his league! Here's some pics I can't post in the Guardians thread anyway, and many thanks to
Jakeywax31 for his kindness, both towards me, and my friend, Tool Man

That's a shameFor some reason, for last 6 months I cannot see the pictures posted byJack Black and some other members. It frustrates me to no end, but I still jump in the read the stories and enjoy them almost as much.
Very coolJakeywax31
He has owned a lot of different bikes Charlie, from Harleys to Moto Guzzis, but he had always owned at least one BSA, until he sold his A10 about a year ago. It is the first time he has been without a motorcycle since he was a teenager. That's a beauty isn't it? A good mate of mine had a Super Rocket for yearsNice Silver Bullet Remington!!!
But does Tool Man still ride a BSA????!!!!! (Knuckle Tats!)View attachment 2160225
My favorite Motorcycle; owned it from 1963 to 1966!! 1963 650 Super Rocket. My first British twin!!
(Bought a new Triumph Bonneville in 1966!)

Is Paul trying to turn tool man into a Yank?
Well done Paul, and the English delivery person got it there on time.![]()
You would fit right in Duncan, I often have to leave the market because my ribs are hurting so much with laughing!Oh man I love it!
First of all- well done Paul!!
I love the banter between you guys Jack and Tool Man, Tool man looks like a guy I would love to hang around together with for some time - probably not though as he would awaken the ol' Duncan that sleeps now![]()
Tool man was a lad in his day- and still some today! Great to see.
Charlie! That was your BSA? WOW! I used to paint many of the older Bikes like the Trumps, BSA's Harleys etc for Bike shows - always had the painting of the teardrops and stripes to an art- used to take sooooo long!
Just don't try to clean the patina of tannins off that drinking vessel...he'd have your guts for garters.
Good to see some smiles.
Thanks PaulWhat a great read and gesture, Tool Man would fit right in my home town and our local MC. Great gift Paul!!!
You wouldn't like his taste for mushrooms Vince!Very cool. Way to go, Paul!
Thanks for posting, Jack. (And what's wrong with Tool Man's diet?)
LOL!He eats too much of it....hey I'm not the one who called him a fat lump...am I?...but Hey one of my good mates is Uncle Fester so what would I know?View attachment 2160822
Oh no, a lot of folks here use ImgurJack Black - Imgur is definitely
my problem, and I am certain that’s the common denominator. I can see pics uploaded directly and those using other photo hosting services. (Thanks for uploading the Tool Man pic). I suspect this is a new security “feature” of my work phone because I don’t have this issue on other devices in my house. I just don’t carry two phones around all the time. I guess I need a work-phone and a porch-phone.

If we call someone a tool it’s a kind of almost friendly insult. Thanks for all the kind words folks, and to Paul, again, for his generosity![]()
LOL! Yeah, there's not much REGULAR about Tool Man!Hard to think of anyone less like James Bond, maybe Brooke Bond!

"Where's the brown sauce Moneypenny?!"
LOL!He's absolutely thrilled Paul
Just don't offer him a cup and saucer, he only drinks his tea from a heavily stained aluminium US Army canteen cup, with the handles bound together with copper wire!

BSA was also used for Bosnian Serb Army so I took my BSA badge of out there in case it got me into trouble.I just figured he used to be in the Boy Scouts of America…
Good looking bike, Charlie.

you wouldn’t expect to see Teds riding a bike it would mess up the hair![]()
