tool suggestions for removing pins

I've seen some rusted out Ka-bars with badly damaged leather handles and some lockbacks with rusted out springs and liners. I want to be able to unpin the butt cap from a Ka-bar or unpin a buck 110 and disassemble it, for example. Does anyone have tool suggestions and brands? I want a complete set to be able to unpin anything on a knife. I'm ready to spend money on top-quality made in the U.S.A.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Cheers,

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestions! More questions:

1. I see Starrett pin punches in brass and steel. Which do I want?
2. Is this the kind of bench block you mean?

3. I'm assuming I need a tapper hammer of some sort. I saw one from Lyman that's made in the U.S.A. Good to go?
4. Any other suggested accessories that will make life easier while I'm unpinning? In looking at these products, I see that websites are suggesting I get a "rubber bench block," too. That makes sense to put underneath the metal bench block. Anything else?

I have several steel bench blocks. I have one that I made out of Delrin that I use for much of my disassembly.
Converting an automatic center punch to pin-punch configuration will give you a "third hand" which comes in handy when trying to hold the knife in place and drive the pins out.
