Toothpicks

Sorry I can't see your photos. I like the toothpick too. Got several in tubes some where. One has a guitar shield.

I do have a teensy green RR toothpick that goes in the airplane luggage sometime. You are right about the general lack of interest in the pattern, but I am sure a few of the fans will show up.

GEC's #12 Powderhorn is my favorite @ 4" closed length. Here is a stag and a primitive bone.

Hi all! Not sure how much traction this thread will get, but I will give it a shot. This seems to be one of the less talked about patterns but happens to be one of my favorites, especially two sharp bladed variations. Lets see some toothpicks!

A couple nice examples I've acquired View media item 7574
Like you, I'm especially fond of big (at least 4" closed) 2-bladed toothpicks with a clip main and a "sharp" secondary (not a scaling blade). Your S&Ms are cool, kind of like toothpick trappers. I also like the clip/pen GEC #12 Powderhorns, although I'm not sure about the "full size" clip as opposed to a more slender version of the clip blade; still, I kind of regret not grabbing one of the Powderhorns when they were still available several years ago. I'm not really a fan of the "tiny" toothpicks (3").

Of the toothpicks I own, these are my favorites.
An Imperial USA clip/pen with yellow cell "skin", very similar to what I remember one of my grandpas carrying about 60 years ago (thanks, Dave):

A Buck clip/spey with wood covers that came in a Buck Christmas tin with a small toothpick I gave my wife:

I have a couple of other big toothpicks that I don't like as well because the secondary blade isn't really a sharp blade.
A 5" Rough Rider toothpick with a clip blade and a serrated blade (thanks, Mark). I think of it as a picnic or BBQ knife because it will cut meat, open bottles, cut melon, etc.

I also have this Providence Cutlery fish knife with a scaling blade (that also opens bottles).

Holy moly I like the red one with the cap lifter on it. Man that's a sharp looking toothpick. Who makes that please.

Rough Rider 1401, but it might be discontinued. I think I've seen a current Rough Rider with the same blades, but black smooth bone handle, black coating on the blades, copper bolsters, and a bail. (Gonna send you a PM.)

I also prefer the more muskrat shaped blades over the clip blades. And the larger fullsize toothpicks as well. I love the yellow scales on that providence!

I'm not all that fond of this pattern, but for this Snakewood #12 I will make an exception.

Also the Imperial fish knives are nice knives for what they are. Though I don't use it much at 5" closed. This has good snap and a long sharp blade. Probably be good as a folding steak knife and cut down the fish scaler to just a bottle opener.

I'll play :)
Top to bottom: Queen BB7 1993, Queen #20 1976, GEC #12, Queen with rams horn and D2 steel, Remington with pink bone. I'm pretty sure the Remington is a Bear and Son.

I'm not sure why Queen called one the BB7 and one a #20. The only difference I can see is the location of the nail nick. Different handles of course, but they're both bone. The BB7 had a shield. Otherwise they look identical to me. Same frame, same blade. Good knives.

No worries and no apology needed  I just wanted to share the love for Toothpicks :)
