Top 10 Favorite: Music, Movies

Seven Samurai? Holy crap, how many times do you think you could watch that? It's hard enough to sit through it once.

It's true that it is a long movie, but it's a really cool one, and one which I have never grown tired of. And anyway, you're on a desert island dude, you got something better to do?

Musical Artists:

Tom Waits (after owning about 20 of his albums and a tattoo... i could say just Waits albums can get me through just about anything)

That or anything by Dead Can Dance or Lisa Gerrard.

I could also stand Depeche Mode, The Cure, Bauhaus, Alien Sex Fiend, a little Christian Death, Peter Ulrich, Corvus Corax, NIN, older (80's) Skinny Puppy, Zombina And The Skeletones, Pink Floyd, Joy Division, Anti-Nowhere League, The Cramps, The Clash, Misfits etc...

Movies? Hmm...

Bearskin, The Evil Dead trilogy, The Rules Of Attraction, Naked Lunch, Trainspotting, Kevin Smith movies and porno... Any and all zombie flicks.

If i could bring a book, anything H.P Lovecraft.

The Cube was a movie based on a group of characters chosen at random to be placed in a maze filled with deadly traps. They have to figure out their role, how to survive the traps and how to escape. I liked it for it's fairly believable acting (Though the dialog gets too scripted feeling often) and intense focus on the psychological reaction each character has to the situation.

There are 3 Cube movies: CUBE, CUBE 2, and CUBE ZERO. All are outstanding, but 2 is probably the best.

Igby Goes Down
That's one that you don't see on many lists! Next to Ordinary People, that has got to be one of the blackest and most depressing films ever made. 5 minutes into this film, I needed to pause it so I could pour myself a very large and very strong drink. I do not recommend watching it sober.

Mulholland Drive
David Lynch's surreal masterpiece. I do not like other things he's done, but this was great. One of the most misunderstood films of all time . . . actually, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Lynch doesn't even understand it.

Here's a few others:

Razorback
Masters of Menace
River's Edge
A Prayer for the Dying
Tough Guys Don't Dance
Street Trash
Bad Taste
Heavy Metal
Shogun Assassin
Truth or Dare (NOT the Madonna film)
Romper Stomper
The Howling
