Top 3 Favorite Sub-3" Folders

This is an offshoot of my top 3 favorite folders thread. Here are my three favorite sub-3" folders, not in any particular order. The top-to-bottom picture order is: LionSteel T.R.E. G-10 OD, Extrema Ratio MF0 w/textured handle and DPx HEAT/F OD.

That lion steel is beautiful! How do you like it?

Byrd Robin in G10 - tough knife and feels nice in hand. To be honest I think I prefer it over my D-Fly

Buck 55 - Little bro to the world famous Buck 110. Not the most high-tech knife in the world, but it's fun to carry and use. Really classy knife.

Cold Steel Tuff Lite - Arguably one of the most utility-minded Cold Steel knives out there. Wharncliffe blade cuts aggressively and has a sharp tip. Needless to say, as usual from Cold Steel, an incredibly tough knife.

Cutco 1891 lock back

AirSOG

Not my favorites but they are the sub 3 inch that I own.

The 1891 is the only Cutco that I own and it has much to be desiredbut, I keep it around because I like it's ergonomics. Picture a Gerber LST except a little bigger. Any time I get bored with the steel in my better knives, I dig it out and use it for a few days. Makes my Sandvik 14C and CPM S30V seem like miracle steels.

The AirSOG has a 3 inch blade but a cutting edge of less than 3" so I figure it counts as a sub three inch folder.

As the only classy and attractive sub-3" gentleman's folder in my collection so far, it says a lot. Fit and finish is excellent and is a testament to Lionsteel's qc program. Being light and having a slim profile makes it very pocket friendly. Deployment is very smooth due to the IKBS bearings and lockup is solid with no stick. Nice touches include a hidden blade stop and an extended tab on the stainless steel lock bar insert that serves to prevent overextension.

The only fly in the ointment for the TRE is the detent which is a crapshoot. In my case, I had to send my TRE back to Lionsteel for warranty work to fix a weak detent. Detent issues aside, this does not preclude me from singing the praises that it justly deserves.

The only folders I own with a blade over 3 inches are a Buck 110 and aTaylor-Schrade Old Timer 7OT.
My current EDC trio is the 110, a Buck 301 stockman, and either a SAK Recruit or Marbles scout/camp knife.
I'm rather fond of the Rough Rider large sunfish, too.
