Top 3 Most Collectible Busse Knives...

Not to discount some of the one-offs that would be choice like the Chukchete, etc. That's less like buying a collectible Revolutionary War musket and more akin to buying the Declaration of Independence.

Besides, Chuck will keep that 'til he dies and, hopefully, I'm on the short list for his will. ;)

In your opinion, what are the top 3 most collectible Busse knives out there?

There are a lot of ways to answer that. All the SH knives is an easy answer but how about knives you can get your hands on now.

I have no use for one but the AK has to be up there and I think the supply of CGFBM is going to start to dry up. Any Steal Heart that does not have an ergo handle or teeth on the edge.

An interesting Question.

Needs further definition I think.

Models ?

Three particular knives?

Editions of a particular Model?

Most popular to collect?

Most Valuable?

Series even? Straight Handles/Ergos/Fusion?

From the begining of when I got involved there have been Four types of Publicly visable collectors.

Ones who want one of each knife available at a particular time(one of each model).

Ones the want many, many of a particular model.

Ones that want really hard to find Busse knives(mostly early one of a kinds but any rare Busse will do.)

Then there is an Eclectic Accumulator, Find a Busse knife that I like and buy it, then do it again, repeat if necessary.(or convenient)

1. SHSH (various)
2. SHBM
3. SFNO (as close to original as possible)

Of course, there are various specials and one-off customs that are more desirable (the Shark, for example), but these really stand out (to me) in the general production run.

That said, I'd keep quite a few CG FBMs and AKs around if I were you. :D

Do I really need to discuss PE v. SE?

Any Straight Handle Series
Then the Old Satin Jacks and BAIIIs
Steel Heart ANYTHING

I think that the which is more "collectible comes and goes in fads", but I would say that the number one collectible is the Game Warden:D cuz everyone has one. So it is most the collected.:D

According to Jerry the NICK is one of the top hogs..

I happen to be in agreement:thumbup:

I would take this over a SHBA any day, SHBM is a different story........

I think you are right. Those SHBAs suck. If you have any send them to me. I know some nut that collects them:foot: and maybe I can get a SHSH out of him with a SHBA.

I would have to agree with you. To my surprise there is a very fine SH-E that has been sitting in the exchange forum for weeks, and with a price that is only $100 above factory pricing!

If I had the extra dough it would be mine.
