What are your top 3 Spydercos as far as function? We all have different uses for our knives and of course different perspectives on what suits our needs. I am a beginner and the top 3 knives i would recommend for a beginner like myself are:

- Paramilitary 2 (Perfect for EDC and all around tasks)
- Tenacious (For all round tasks and all around beater)
- Ladybug (awesome little knife and always on my keychain)

I would like to hear everyone's opinion and as usual, feel free to post pics!

Gayle Bradley (Classy, tough slicing machine)
Paramilitary 2 (Perfect mid-sized, all-around EDC)
Delica 4 (Small, light-weight EDC)

Spyderco Chokwe - Awesome strange looking knife with excellent ergos, materials, and fit and finish. Blade shape is perfect for tackling EDC tasks. s30v so it holds a nice edge. Thick enough to handle all around EDC, thin enough to slice like a laser. Feels thin and lightweight in the pocket.

Spyderco Caly 3 CF/Damascus - Classy looking, solid, not too heavy but enough heft to feel substantial, smooth handle but provides a nice grip, butter action, slices and takes down EDC tasks like a big knife, and did I mention it's gorgeous?

Spyderco Chaparral - Extremely thin as to where you can't tell it's in the pocket, wide enough blade to give good cutting space, great blade shape with a sharp tip but makes it robust enough to not chip, Grippy CF looks and feels great. Fills even larger hands, Smooth action and extremely solid. Thin blade to make it a great and laser-like slicer, while still being able to do regular EDC tasks. It seems like a thin light duty office type EDC, but it's so much more than that.

Para 2 (This would be my preferred hard use folder)
Caly 3.5 (This is my choice for all around best, EDC)
Salt 1 (This is a great, light weight knife for exercise and summer carry. It also can be used in the water and beat on. Because the steel is softer than S30V, in PE, you can touch it up very easily. I recommend getting a custom FFG on it to help with slicing)

Centofante - my EDC of choice
Caly 3.5 Superblue - simply awesome steel
Kiwi - funky cool and very handy for just about everything.

I have other Spydercos but my main ones are the Tenacious, Para 2, Gayle Bradley and Vallotton. The Vallotton is a unique piece but for my EDC uses the other 3 are mostly interchangeable. I am interested in getting a Military, Starmate or Manix 2 XL, and I consider those 3 to be fairly equal for my uses.

I might get a Dragonfly if I have the right opportunity, and I might get a Sage 1 is I ever have to restrict myself to small folders.

Overall: Stretch CF/ Stretch FRNzdp (Perfect)
Heavy Duty: Native5 (Built tough, yet elegant. Can be put to task and also be delicate)
Small: I usually dont go below 3 inches bladelength but I just got a Techno. so far.

VG-10 Stretch - lignum vitae customized or bolstered cocobolo version for EDC and all around tasks, FRN version for rougher tasks
Chaparral - CF/S30V version, for "legal carry" when visiting beautiful downtown Greenville
Kiwi - with pretty much any one of 80 or so scale materials, for light work and humoring the faint of heart and weak of sphincter.

Carbon fiber Military. So light, so big, so brilliant
SE Pacific Salt. Nothing like leaving a folder drenched in seawater and just wiping the caked salt of a few days later with no rusting.
C42 Viele; very capable gentleman's folder. When I'm in a suit this is most often in my pocket.

PM2
Caly in some version
Techno

Might change once I get a Southard flipper

For overall use: Military
For tougher use: Gayle Bradley
For use around NKP: ZDP Walker (Chaparral or Kiwi if you got it, I do not).

For smaller knife needs: Chaparral Ti in XHP
For dirty jobs: Military or Manix2XL
For the win: Para2

Heavy duty EDC -Manix 2
All around EDC- Para 2.
Small EDC/Summer/travel knife-Dragonfly2 Salt.

CF Military. 4" of blade at only 4oz. Nuff said.
Para 2. Good medium size, and feels great in hand.
G-10 drop point UKPK. Lightweight yet plenty tough, no lock, and love the wire clip.
