Top 5 budget knives

Mine are:
Tramontina machete (long fixed)
Mora Companion (short fixed)
Opinel #9 (traditional folder)
Enlan EL-04 (modern folder)
Victorinox Farmer (multitool)

Most expensive item is the Vic at about $35, and the least expensive is the Tram at about $6.

And that's it, I've pretty much got my needs covered.

I've been impressed with the quality of all Spyderco and Kershaw's Chinese-made folders. I won't get into individual models since I like all that I've handled and used.

I did a post a while back on knives below $38 that were good. Sticking to your up to $50 target:
1. Spyderco Cat $44.13 (last year or two an online retailer had the Mini Grips for about $50, but no longer)
2. Esee Izula $42.95
3. Kershaw Diskin Hunter $51.95
4. Cold Steel Recon 1 $41.95 (mini $31.95)
5. Benchmade Landslide N680 (for salt water) $46.95

If you don't own a Kershaw Leek I would put that on my list. Even though I prefer my Benchmades and ZT's being a larger type person. There is something about the Leek that I love.

Kershaw Injection 3.5
Ontario Utilitac II
Spyderco Tenacious
Rat I
Kershaw Cryo G-10

Opinel is my choice for cheap quality knives. They are ground thin and will get sharp sharp sharp.
